Kanm stood shivering in front of his friends. If you have been following this story, then you should know that he revealed his powers to his friends for good, and now he needed to tell the truth.
"It all started a long time ago---"
"---I was just born about 11 years ago, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charcol. And of course, Elder Charcol is my grandfather.
"One day, my father left home. He said that he was interested in magic. So then he left, taking all of his belongings. I never saw him again, and even though I was really sad, I still had my mom, until the Nastica Independence Day. She was hit by a flying comet, and she was too weak to continue on.
"Then, one of my father's brothers' came into town. Then he became ruler, and Nastica was peaceful. But then, a man with a cloak came into town. I only caught one glimpse of his face and when I did, he looked exactly like my dad.
"I was so shocked, that I just stood there, not believing what I saw. But while I was a sitting duck, the man took advantage of that. He shot something at my heart, and I was cursed ever since. Then he killed the real king, and took over Nastica. Me and my grandfather escaped, and that man waits still at the throne.
"Before we fled, we saw that he looked a bit afraid when he saw a piece of the Master Heart. So we figured that he was afraid of it, and that he was happy when his guards built a little of a maze, and that's when he saw us again. We left as soon as he pointed at us, and before the guards could catch up with us, we jumped through a one-way portal, and never went back. We stayed in the Vault and survived on the mold that grows there. Then, he wanted to give me an education, and since there was no school in Nastica, and that cloaked man was there ruling the city, he sent me to the school where I met you guys. But my grandpa said that I cannot reveal my powers, or else. But he gave me grace this time, and I'm pretty sure that he's not going to give me another second chance."
Kanm smiled at his speech, and put his hands out.
"Are you guys still with me, even I lied to you, even if it was for my safety?"
"Of course," they said.
"And do you promise NOT TO TELL ANYONE about my power?"
"Actually, that promise will be hard to keep, at least for me," replied Stacy. "But at least I'll try."
"Thanks," Kanm said. "I'm glad that my buddies are still with me."
"GROUP HUG!!!" shouted Maci, as they welcomed Kanm back in the gang.
But as they were celebrating, a miniature, lizard-like creature flew toward the skyscraper...
